I don't agree with almost anything on that list, though, as it contains not one song I would've picked
Stardust by Hoagy Carmichael
Re: Stardust by Hoagy Carmichael
The original is better than the Cole version. I just don't get what makes this song a number two song of the century. I've nothing against it. It just doesn't do anything for me.

I mean, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer is on the list at 14! I don't even consider that a real song.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow at 9! No sex. No, 'oomph'. A sickly and abused Judy Garland warbling nonsense. Only Michael Jackson was more disturbing with Maculy Culkin.

This is a gorgeous song, I love it. Every big band and crooner covered it, Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Sachmo, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr, Der Bingle, pretty much everybody. You've got to be a big band swing/jazz fan to really appreciate it, though. Here's Harry James and Frank Sinatra. You don't get better than the Chairman of the Board on this sort of thing, the man was a genius.

Probably my all time favorite Big Band was Glenn Miller, here's his take. The trumpet solo around 2:50 is ace.

I love the fact that Rod Stewart is doing all the American Standard albums, I've got all of them and they're all good, but he honestly doesn't hold a candle to the original guys.
Don't worry munchkins, when you grow up and understand what music is really about you'll appreciate it too.

I can't tell you, it's a secret. It's only revealed when you reach the 31st Level.
