Heck, even the infrastructure for music distribution was invented in New Jersey. The phonograph was invented in Menlo Park, by Thomas Edison. And most of Marconi's work on radio was done and early radio transmission stations were built in New Jersey.

I like the intro, then he starts singing and instantly ruins it. The melodies of the verse and chorus are entirely predictable, the harmony is predictable, the meter is predictable, the tempo is predictable.

It's just dull.

And he sounds like an old pervert.

I really like it, and I like the way he sings here. It's completely different than anything else I've ever heard him do.

I hate that song, too. But if you listen to the lyrics it seems to be an anti-war song. It's not really the flag-waving song it first appears to be. Kinda like people think "The One I Love" by R.E.M. is a pretty love song, when in fact it's just the opposite.


Coito, you seem to be familiar with Springsteen. Have you listened to Nebraska? It seems to be critically well regarded. Always been meaning to check it out.

Yes. It's an acoustic album. His first effort after dumping the E Street Band after Born in the USA tour.

It's very raw, and it was recorded solo - by himself with no assistance - in a room in his old house in Asbury Park. He recorded them as demos, and then just released the demos.
