Some Eels songs are downright depressing. Some Eels songs I won't play if I am in a low mood, because I'd never get out of it. Some of their sad songs actually are pretty funny in a dark way. There is less humour in Eels' later CD's I've found. I'd qualify "Daisies of the Galaxy" as a happy CD, "Electro-shock Blues" as a very sad one. "End times" is a bit gloomy overall but I like it.
