I came across this style of singing a few months ago, absolutely remarkable. I had no idea the human voice was capable of producing such sounds. It isn't just limited to Siberia either, even the Inuit have their own style you can probably find some clips around the internet. I read somewhere it was traditionally performed in places where there is a lot of natural reverberation and echoing. I would imagine it sounds even more impressive in such places.
And that is why folk music will always be more interesting than anything in the charts.

Weird. But interesting.
Both of them seemed to have an almost 'didgeridoo quality' about them at times.
