The reason I chose this is it's 92 and midway for Meatloaf....contains plenty of his angst with his multi-layered linguistic social commentary. And....I can listen to it twice - a great test for song selection.

Re: Rock Stars: sum them up in one song
A quick rationale for songs chosen, hence forth, will help this thread keep on track? All songs I've chosen are from artists whom I've a 90 to 100 % discography depending on whether they are living or dead....

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Some weird ass band with a singing drummer. I thought those went out with Ringo, The Band guy and Dave Clark.

To be fair, that's pretty subjective.Xamonas Chegwé wrote:Scrumple, you really don't get this thread at all, do you?
You chose completely atypical but popular songs from both Hawkwind and the Stranglers. Songs that in no way sum up either band's body of work or style.
So here's the best thing to ever come out of Manchester:
Yes.. I think the Peel sessions are the best.
