Not at all. I think with your new status as an MRA, you surpass him in reasonableness. Congrats! You've made it!pErvinalia wrote:Stop trolling, ffs. Jim is the most reasonable person on these boards.

The 'Walsh Question' 'What Is A Woman?' I'll put an answer here when someone posts one that is clear and comprehensible, by apostates to the Faith.
Update: I've been offered one!
Strong ideas don't require censorship to survive. Weak ideas cannot survive without it.

Oh god, so now your OCD/Tourettes is "MRA". Let's see how many times you can say it in 24 hours. I think your record last time for an OCD compulsion was about 10 in 24 hours.

My current OCD is how you flee direct questions. That was fucking hilarious! I put a reminder in my signature, so it 'auto-OCDposts' with every post, until I remember how to make you flee a subject permanently.

In my opinion, equating an armed citizenry to 'freedom' is missing at least a few logical steps. As for said armed citizens being some sort of bulwark against tyranny in this day and age, I consider that nothing but a malignant fantasy.Cunt wrote:So you DO understand the assurance that citizens may have guns, though you think it's quaint, or ineffective.L'Emmerdeur wrote:The parallel doesn't work, despite the fantasies of '2A fanatics.' Feel free to cite any instance in which I've advocated making guns illegal.Cunt wrote:OK, where from here?
Trump should make some guns illegal? To what end, exactly?
Let's start with Forty Two's proposal from here. While I might not agree with all the items on his list, it can serve here as a basis for discussion.Cunt wrote:What is the next step from here?
Let the actors guild tut-tut every few years about how the government isn't doing enough about the gun problem, while their armed guards escort their children to private schools? Is that really enough?

Re: NRA
Anybody can get one of these now. I would call it semiautomatic. It is some variant of AR-15.Pops in cartride after cartridge. I say we give the guns nuts just black powder rifles. No need to go back to flint lock.

Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Re: NRA
How is he firing bursts, if it's a semiautomatic? I thought it was one pull one shot?
Or has it got a bump stock fitted? He said he was running it in full auto at the start.

While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

The list seems ok, except that I don't see a step to change or clairfy the 2nd amendment...can't skip that, or people will stand behind it (armed)L'Emmerdeur wrote:In my opinion, equating an armed citizenry to 'freedom' is missing at least a few logical steps. I also don't know how it can be fitted around mechanics. I seem to remember Canada's 'long gun registry' being really silly in certain areas, because it's hard to define the kind of things about guns which are truly dangerous.
For example, is the semi-auto feature more dangerous? Or a 3-way gymbal with targeting system on a single-shot smaller rifle?
It's pretty complicated to write. Not saying it shouldn't be written, but it isn't a clear thing to say 'handguns'.
Canada has handguns restricted, I think fairly successfully, but I'm not even sure what successful means in that context...

Re: NRA
That is a fully automatic capable AR-15. Not just 'anybody' can get one. At about 9:14 or so, he thanks an organization that loaned him an 'M16 lower.' That is the part that has a select fire switch and machining which allows fully automatic fire. These parts are available but they're very expensive and highly regulated. In the US, to own a gun with one requires extensive paperwork from the US government (see the National Firearms Act).Tero wrote:Anybody can get one of these now. I would call it semiautomatic. I think one can print their own now, without the serial number. I remember seeing a home-gamer-journalist did it for a story. It took some handholding, but with money and a bit of study, he was able to print one with his own machine.

Re: NRA
Yeah it's full auto. Don't see the attraction, myself. Most military M4s aren't capable of full auto because it's inaccurate as hell, you're out of ammo in a couple of seconds, and it melts a lot of barrels. 3 round burst is the way to go. I'd rather just jerk off.
ETA that said, I had a friend a few years back with a Class III license and a substantial gun collection. He had one of these
Thompson 1921 "Chicago Typewriter". 100 round drum magazine, fired .45 ACP. He let me shoot it once, and I must admit it was jolly good fun.

Re: NRA
Yes, I expect that it is possible to print one. On the other hand, a metal printing setup that might be capable of making a proper unit would come to about $120,000 at minimum. Not to mention that (in the US at least) you're setting yourself up for a federal felony charge unless you get the proper paperwork.Cunt wrote:That seems pretty 'last decade' info.L'Emmerdeur wrote:That is a fully automatic capable AR-15.
