The Minnesota State Patrol have arrested a CNN reporter reporting live on television while covering the Minneapolis protests, without giving any reason, leading him and three crew members away in handcuffs.

Black reporter Omar Jimenez had just shown a protester being arrested when about half a dozen white police officers surrounded him.

CNN's Josh Campbell, who was also reporting in the area but not standing with the on-air crew, said he was also approached by police but was allowed to remain.

"I identified myself … they said, 'OK, you're permitted to be in the area," said Campbell, who is white.

"I was treated much differently than [Jimenez] was."

I don't think they need the MRAPs, but a semi-automatic M16 is an AR15, something a hell of a lot of civilians own and are standard issue in many police departments. Sheriff cars here are generally equipped with either an AR15 or 12 gauge shotgun.
