You make a considered decision based on your situation. If the guy with the gun just wants my wallet, I would hand it to him and do my best to memorise his face and everything else about him so the cops can catch him later. It wouldn't matter much, since my wallet never has much in it, and that little is not worth my life or even the assailant's life.

If I thought my life was seriously threatened, I would probably run and dodge like crazy. If Seth was there, he would stop to pull out his gun, which would guarantee that Seth died with at least one bullet through him.

Hey, I LIKE Taylor Swift...I've been to TWO of her "Red" tour concerts in the last month or so...one in Columbus and one in Denver. I bought a ticket for the Columbus show because I was passing through at the right time and didn't have anything better to do, and I got two free tickets from her keyboardist, David Cook, for the Denver show. That is an answer, and a very good one. Having a gun at a gunfight...even a potential one...gives you many options you wouldn't otherwise have.

Which, if one is properly trained and competent with one's concealed handgun, gives one a significant advantage.

You see, robbers are intent on robbing and getting the boodle and getting away. They use the gun as a THREAT to gain compliance, but they are not actually thinking about killing the victim, they just want the wallet. So, they are highly likely to hesitate to actually fire.

I, on the other hand, have trained for many years on exactly what to do when someone points a weapon at me and demands my wallet, and that is to draw and fire two to the chest and one to the head in 0.76 seconds, long before the crook can possibly perceive and react. I don't hesitate because I already know exactly what I'm going to do in that situation...I'm going to render the crook incapable of continuing the conduct that prompted me to shoot him in the first place. And I'm not going to dither for even a fraction of a second about whether or not he "deserves" to get shot dead, I'm just going to go right ahead and exercise my legal right of self defense. If he didn't want to get dead, he probably shouldn't have tried to rob me.

Bear in mind if someone put a gun to their own head ,demanded my wallet and said they would kill themselves if I didnt give them any money I almost certainly would give them my wallet. Better a lost wallet than having to watch brain splatter pie on the pavement.

I would hope most decent people would do the same (and call the police later of course)
