I've seen a few WWII propaganda films. They are rather interesting studies in the use of film to try to influence people's thinking. That subtle (or sometimes not so subtle) blend of fact, fiction, and outright lies to inflame passions and stir up prejudices is amazing. I wonder if Faux News makes their "newspeople" study them.klr wrote:I can almost imagine you saying that ...Ayaan wrote:Wow. These range from 1:38 minutes to over an hour. Most have never been on the Internet before, and certainly not all in one place. 32.8 gigabytes of files.Ayaan wrote:I've seen a few WWII propaganda films. No, I stole them so some poor guy would be unable to feed his family.Mallardz wrote:Wait are these world war two footage that you own or otherwise posses?
Either that or the National Archives sent them to me to put online as they're in the public domain.
I'm not sure which.

I think the answer to that curiously legalistic question is probably "yes".Mallardz wrote:Wait are these world war two footage that you own or otherwise posses?

Actually, nobody "owns" them, they were produced at government expense, so the taxpayers (of whom I stand in bemusement) "own" them.klr wrote:I think the answer to that curiously legalistic question is probably "yes".Mallardz wrote:Wait are these world war two footage that you own or otherwise posses?
