It was right about this time in 1942 that Wade McCluskey's dive-bombers came out of the clouds just in time to whack three Japanese heavy carriers which were loaded with re-fuelling and re-arming planes.

My office building actually took over an internal TV channel last Friday to broadcast the 1976 movie "Midway" around lunchtime. I can't imagine there's anybody there who doesn't know about Joe Rochefort and objective "AF".

Americans will never understand the subtlety of the tactical defeat.

I thought that was the 4th June? No wonder the Japs were caught with their pants down.

As for the movie, methinks it's high time we had a remake of "Midway", but anyone involved with "Pearl Harbor" :|~ is automatically disqualified.

Totally agree. It's been ten years and I still haven't forgiven Jerry Bruckheimer.

Not holding my breath though. I'm still waiting for Hollywood to get around to making Master & Commander II: Trafalgar.
