PBB - Post Big Bang, making it approximately the year 13,000,000,000.

Come to think of it I am not sure if they mean British or Merican billions. A British billion is a thousand million but in Merca I think it means a million million..or is it the other way round?

I think "Common Era" is much worse than "Anno Domini" because "Common Era" pretends that for some reason the rise of Christianity makes it a "Common Era". Face it, we need an arbitrary boundary to "start time". AD is just as good as any other made-up "era", and is the most popular.

I think it's a marginal improvement - it's not really an attempt to hide the origin of the era, but it does save people who don't want to from saying "the year of our lord" even if it is only in a Latin abbreviation. More of an issue for Moslems (naturally) but it's a sensible enough compromise given the absolute nightmare it would be if we really did change our dating system.

I'm disgusted to see that some people are taking the poll seriously. What the fuck is happening to this forum? :nono:

I say we keep AD but it should stand for Anal Domination.

While "IC" would certainly be the most appropriate, I think it's a bit too soon after Y2K to have to rewrite all the software AGAIN to fix the Y10K bug, so I voted "CE". :levi:

I only have direct evidence for 47 and a bit years, so far. And a couple of the early ones are very vague (actually, since discovering alcohol, most of them have had vague bits.)
