Yes, yes, yes, the United States has never actually won a battle, much less a war. All rumors to the contrary is mere propaganda. The Brits, of course, have never lost anything, which is why they still have their Empire.

And how does England respond to threats on its border, say when the Bluebonnets come over the border?

Who would it convince? The guy who thinks that the only reason the Brits lost anything was that they were too busy with the really important stuff to care? The guy who thinks Canada was "independent" in 1812? The guy who thinks the War of 1812 was instigated by the American invasion of Canada, and not British impressment, the Chesapeake incident and the British attempt to cripple American trade?

Everyone has their own "facts" about the War of 1812, apparently. The Canadians brag endlessly about how they, the Canadians, burned down the White House, ignoring the British naval landing and the British troops that lit the fires.....

Let's just all agree that all of American history is fake, except the part about it taking everybody else's land. And of course, despite having had the largest colonial empire in the world, the British were always kind and benevolent and only conquered those who really wanted to be conquered, and they've never lost a battle, much less a war.

Canada at the time was not a country - it was a British colony, and British forces were not only stationed there, but channeling arms to Tecumseh and the Indian federation. The purpose of British arming of the Indian tribes was to incite them to war against the Americans. The invasion of Canada, in short, was to cut that off, and hopefully in the process gain some British territory. The war had been declared against Britain, however, before the Americans attacked British forces stationed in Canada.

I've always found it humorous when Brits scoff at "manifest destiny" when they made precisely the same westward advance to the Pacific and in fact took more acreage of land in the process than the Americans did. Seems a bit ironic that a country that held more people under colonial subjugation than other other would feel itself in any position to moralize, expressly or impliedly, on this topic. One would think a concise apology to the world would be in order instead.
