My guess is he'd probably have exiled them all to some god forsaken island in the northern seas.

We invented concentration camps and deliberately starved millions to maintain rule over India and so forth. There's nothing Hitler did that we hadn't done bigger and 'better' before the arrival of mass media in Victorian times.

Re: Hitler, Nazism and the British
Well this is rubbish. The Brits didn't have a high regard for those they colonised on the whole but the mass planned killing of whole races of people was not a strategy. This is sheer nonsense.Crumple » wrote:We invented concentration camps and deliberately starved millions to maintain rule over India and so forth. You have quoted an extract from a revisionist holocaust denying site! You should not be so quick of the mark!

Here's a nice little quote about their mission from their home page: "May the ruins of Hastings be a symbol that both the Saxons and the Anglo-Saxons might succeed in rising from their modern historical ashes".

Guilt by association. There would be no need if the middle gorund players who instigate such abominations were not in denial about their 'great terrors' of history. Here's the extreme lefts view. I actually learnt about this from a completely different source but no matter....Rum » wrote:![]()

Re: Hitler, Nazism and the British
I actually am not in the business of defending the British Empire, although arguably it brought some good along with its ruthless motivation to exploit. The Empire was not above creating massive levels of opium addiction in southern ad central china to exploit markets there for example. I was personally as a child on the receiving end of having stones thrown at me and my parents in Karachi by Pakistanis who had nothing but hatred for the days of the Raj.
However sometimes the cool level headed consensus view of history is perfectly adequate and more or less accurate if viewed with scepticism and an enquiring mind. There really isn't any need to delve into the depths of paranoia, conspiracy theories and extremism at every turn.

My questioning will stop when I die. Histories will always be corrupted by lies both small and big. Try telling that to the people in the City running the show? Same show, disguised actors I figure. Nothing wrong in that whilst there's a global food surplus. The green revolution will end with peak 'cheap easy to obtain oil' and then we'll see what has really changed?Rum » wrote:That's not even true any more in relation to the British Empire.Crumple » wrote:My questioning will stop when I die. Re: Hitler, Nazism and the British
As I understand it, the British did actually employ concentration camps during the Boer war, supposedly as a humanitarian effort but ended up starving about 25000 Boer women and children to death in them...Hang on....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_co ... _-_1902.29Eventually, there were a total of 45 tented camps built for Boer internees and 64 for black Africans. Of the 28,000 Boer men captured as prisoners of war, 25,630 were sent overseas. The vast majority of Boers remaining in the local camps were women and children. Over 26,000 women and children were to perish in these concentration camps.

Re: Hitler, Nazism and the British
Very true. The British did "invent" concentration camps" (or, at very least, they coined the term) but to say that...JacksSmirkingRevenge wrote:As I understand it, the British did actually employ concentration camps during the Boer war, supposedly as a humanitarian effort but ended up starving about 25000 Boer women and children to death in them...Hang on....

... is ludicrous hyperbole! "Bigger and better!" Show me where the British Empire systematically slaughtered anything remotely approaching (even exponentially) 6 million people in camps expressly designed for the purpose, and we can open negotiations on your statement! We invented concentration camps and deliberately starved millions to maintain rule over India and so forth. There's nothing Hitler did that we hadn't done bigger and 'better' before the arrival of mass media in Victorian times.
