I finsihed giving my Medieval class. In the class I was able to run through some coins. The silver coins improved in hardness after they realized they had to be some 92% silver, not more. Florence had issued gold coins, for easier transport. England worked on pennies and actual silver and gold pieces that had to be weighed. Shillings came by 1500.

The slides from my talk were on line for the class, as I failed to cover some of the end of the talk. I'll take it down by Friday.

Rationalia relies on voluntary donations. There is no obligation of course, but if you value this place and want to see it continue please consider making a small donation towards the forum's running costs.
Details on how to do that can be found here.
