I finsihed giving my Medieval class. In the class I was able to run through some coins. The silver coins improved in hardness after they realized they had to be some 92% silver, not more. Florence had issued gold coins, for easier transport. England worked on pennies and actual silver and gold pieces that had to be weighed. Shillings came by 1500.
