Re: Sorry if you work for them...
The only time I've ever seen a Hummer in my town, the fattest family in the world were getting out of it to go to McDonald's. I'm convinced they would've used the drive through if it would've fit.

Re: Time for some restraint?
The thing which needs to be remembered here is that prior to RDF, atheism and secularism were not exactly awash with public figureheads. You don't think Richard Dawkins makes a good front man for a campaign because of this forum situation? Frankly that's on the same level as saying someone shouldn'...

Re: Time for some restraint?
No, it's made me examine the entire purpose for the foundation existing in the first place. Like it or not, the forum was a huge part of its work, and switching to a closer and more tightly moderated forums seems to be more in the interests of Richard Dawkins' PR than the wider goals he claims to st...

Re: Scariest Gaming Experience...?
Alien vs Predator from about 2000 on the pc. Playing as the marine you got the pinging radar display thingy. As the pings got more insistent you knew something was about to happen and it would be very unpleasant. You would have the machine screaming at you that you were about to die a grisly death....

Just to let you know, Simon has said that he'll start posting the news on the new site once it reaches 100 members. (Actually, I just went back to check, he said "a few hundred". So get over there and sign up!) Maybe you could put the URL in your sig? http://www.rationalskepticism.org/styles/prosil...

Re: New forum?
Maybe a stupid question, but could you potentially transfer the RD.net stuff across, or would that be illegal?

Re: Times Online- Richard Dawkins unleashes tirade against fans
It's too much to hope for that any news piece these days would be long enough and would go into sufficient detail to lay out all the genuine and legitimate grievances that so very many people have. Peter Harrison's post on his own blog took nearly 5000 words to do that. I'm not even remotely hopefu...

I think parts of Half Life had to do it for me. It's just the way the whole story was told too. I don't think any first person shooter should be allowed to have cut scenes, and Half Life demonstrated perfectly how to do it.
The marine levels on the Alien vs. Predator games too.

Re: Teaching sex education in faith based British schools
I'm dismayed to learn that my cowardly weasel of an MP, David Kidney, voted in favour of the bill. I think I'll draft a letter. Any suggestions as to what I should put in it? (I might make this a generic template and re-post it for the benefit of the forum) You might be able to get some good ideas ...

I'm a cheapskate, so I'm still waiting for the DVD to come down in price. It's £6.90 but I don't usually spend more than a fiver on a DVD. I'm also waiting for Antichrist to come down. And An Education.
