I’m Back.
After a ten year hiatus, the prodigal son has returned like your man Palpatine. I have had to delete my avatar as superimposing one’s face on Hitler’s doesn’t float these days. Just to condense the last years of my life as it’ll be TLDR; went to uni, had a wild time, did lots of drugs, went mental, ...

National Service Bill 2013-2014
http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2013-14/nationalservice.html The internets happens to be awash with conspiracy theory nonsense due this bill. It's the first I've heard of it, but it was submitted by a private member and not the cabinet. Because it hasn't been acknowledged by the media, lunatics ...

Re: North Korea is Correct!
This situation is never going to result in war, though, unless an 'accident' were to occur at any time where emotions are truly running high. North Korea's frustrations are real, but their aggression is contrived. It's all talk. They know they could never win any war, but the threat is that they cou...

Buffer state? Tradition of conflict? Past conflict? Economic competition? Subterfuge?Coito ergo sum wrote:Yes. Puerto Rico has arguably the most powerful military in the world, which it shares with Guam, the US Virgin Islands and the Northern Marianas Islands.

Yeah, and we're afraid Puerto Rico will invade us. You're out of your depth here, Lozz. Puerto Rico hasn't the backing of a unipolar power. No, with respect, you're out of your depth. Sure they do. They have the backing of the same unipolar power that backs S.Korea. :tea: *Facepalm* Is there a buff...

Gawdzilla Sama wrote:No, I don't. Not to the scale you imply in your first post. They don't need to, South Korea is not aggressive toward China, and China knows it.
That doesn't mean anything. All it takes is a perceived imbalance, and things can escalate. This doesn't mean 'war', just militarisation.

I don't expect anyone to be versed in the school of realism here. What I suggested wasn't a fact, but speculation. I believed this to be a hypothetical thread, because we aren't North Korea, or its ruling dynasty, and as such we can't articulate the reasons for their behaviour. Yep, I'm ignorant of...
