Re: Religion boosting crime
Fire and Brimstone Baby! Nothing like instilling a healthy belief in burning in Hell for all eternity to get people to behave themselves :prof: Christfags like to say that without the threat of damnation, that we can do anything we want. But I find the opposite to be true. Christfags tend to do wha...

No new wars perhaps, but I don't recall Bush ever authorizing the killing of an American citizen without trail.
Obama did, with associated "collateral damage" of women and children.
Waterboarding at least didn't kill innocents.

Re: Bill Gates : An apology
Bill may be an atheist (I have no way of knowing) but Melinda is Catholic and at odds with her church on birth control. Quote from Forbes magazine Gates, a longtime advocate for women’s health issues has been vocal in her support of contraceptive resources for women despite her Catholic beliefs; in ...

Re: I Didn’t Mean Muslim Ones!
The preponderance of lewd behavior at events such as 'gay pride' parades by participants as opposed to say, oh, almost any other type of parade, would be enough to at least formulate a hypothesis that being gay creates the proclivities towards such lewdness.

Not sure what the issue is. I love xmas traditions, the tree, the decorations, the gift exchange, the feast and the gathering of the family.
It's sort of like in the olden days, you know, before xtians stole pagan rites.

Re: Hi from Cupper
I have to wonder if cupper3 was expecting the Spanish Inquisition right from his very own welcome thread? Still with us, cupper3? Hell, what fun is it if one can't take the odd shot or two. That allows me to build up credit for when I have to dish them out. Let me know if the water's too hot, cuppe...

vBulletin is written in PHP, so that should not be the issue.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:Generally, PHP is not as computer friendly as vbulletin.
I guess one has to get used to the way phpBB does things.

So, if you honestly think it is a bigoted environment, then put your money where your mouth is and take it to court. Unfortunately, this form of bigotry is not illegal. And fyi - the statistics I posted for acceptance of gays is for the general population...just take a look at what those statistics...

Re: Hi from Cupper
I think the trick is to manually locate the cursor at the end of each quoted post by clicking there just outside the quote tag, then hit return to move it down a line, then hit the next quote button, repeat. The cursor was outside the quote tag. I just repeated the exercise, making sure of it. Same...

I found the answer at http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... #p12971487... someone asked for a mod and apparently it is built in.
Now, how does one best wrap URL tags around a word... like this without having to manually edit the code?

I can't figure out how to do multiple quotes (and maybe phpBB doesn't allow it as vBulletin does), Scroll down to the window with the previous posts and click on the quote icon for each one you want to include in your reply. You can nest up to five quotes. After that you need to move the quote tags...

Re: Hi from Cupper
I can't figure out how to do multiple quotes (and maybe phpBB doesn't allow it as vBulletin does), but I will try and answer the multiple comments on Gaia vs spirituality. Lovelock's hypothesis (it is NOT a scientific theory) remains stuck as a hypothesis because, although it has validity in some ar...

Re: Hi from Cupper
When you say Gaia are you referring to Lovelock's teleological theory? It has been debunked quite ruthlessly. Scientifically, absolutely has been questioned, and should be from that perspective. Dawkins in particular is a significant participant in that discussion. However, from an ecological perspe...
