Re: Coming soon to an America near you: Islamo-atheism

The Republicans should just change their name to the Christian Fundamentalist Party and be done with it.

Re: Austalian catholicism in decline

One thing that would at least slow down that decline would be if the church started to turn over the paedopriests to the authorities.

But that'll never happen.

Re: THIS is how you ad hom!

So when are they going to call for a physical crusade (as in actual attacks) against atheists?

They really are shitscared of THOUGHT.

Re: Advance Australia Fair!

No shame in losing to the All Blacks. They're a consistently good team.

Sure is annoying though.

But bloody hell, that second half against France sounds like it was a right slaughter. What's up with French rugby anyway? Used to be one of the top four... I'd now class them as borderline minnow.

Re: Apparently, it's still *legal* for schools to expel gay

It's more a situation of lack of will. I suspect most Australians don't agree with the intertwining of religion and government, but nobody's really had the guts (or desire) to stand up to it. We sort of hover somewhere between the US and UK on this, in that there's a completely unbalanced influence ...

Re: Apparently, it's still *legal* for schools to expel gay

Seth, I'd have to side with you on shunning, used properly it can be a powerful tool. And I'd even agree on the "let the idiot BE an idiot" idea. To put this story into its context, religious schools (particularly the Catholic system) do get state (and some federal - evidently designing a system wit...

I voted increased. I am referring to my sex DRIVE, unfortunately not my actual amount of sex.

That sadly remains at 0. :(

I'd rather play guitar.

Apparently, it's still *legal* for schools to expel gay stud

A friend posted this link on FB, and I'm appalled there's still such a law in force. Appalling' law lets schools expel gay students David Marr February 12, 2011 A SENIOR Anglican bishop calls it "appalling" and a gay and lesbian rights group condemns it as "deeply offensive", but the Attorney-Genera...

Re: Cricket Thread

So, what are people thinking for the Cricket World Cup? South Africa - India final? Australia should get through the early stages but won't make the final IMHO. Could be wrong. Can't see England getting any further than Oz though. ------------------------------- Thought I'd add this link, as i...

Ah, Cardinal Pell. I don't know who's stupider, Pell, or the Sydney Angricans.

And one wonders about the constructs the cattleticks confect to cover their abuses.

Re: The Ashes!

At least half the current Aussie Test team doesn't deserve their spot. Sack most of them just to make the point they have to perform. Ponting's days as captain are hopefully over. He's lost his touch. I think the Melbourne Test was the clearest sign of this. He completely lost the plot at the umpire...

Re: More "god can heal" stupidity

(Regarding the links) The stupidity! It BURNS! It BUUUURRRRNNNNSSSS!

The "Answers for Atheists and Agnostics" page is probably one of the most comprehensive lists of unsound religious canards ever compiled. It takes ignorance to a whole new level.
